Role : Finance Assistant

Contract: Permanent, Full time (37.5 hours per week)

Hours: Mon - Fri 9am - 5.30pm (37.5 Hours per week - Office based)

Based - Chiswick, West London W4

Salary: 35,000 - 40,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Role Summary

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented individual for the role of Finance Assistant. You will be responsible for managing daily accounting operations, including accounts payable and receivable, data preparation, and assisting in the preparation of reports and financial analysis. This position offers an excellent opportunity to become a key member of the finance department and contribute to the growth and success of the business.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded.
  • Process supplier invoices daily and maintain the supplier payment schedule, ensuring timely and accurate entries.
  • Conduct month-end creditor account reviews and reconciliations.
  • Perform regular bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure cash balances align with records.
  • Monitor and manage employee expense claims in line with the expense policy.
  • Assist with credit control duties.
  • Provide information to support budget preparation, cash flow forecasting, and monthly management reports.
  • Offer ad-hoc finance support as directed by the Finance Manager.

Job Skills & Qualifications

Required:

  • Experience as a Bookkeeper, Finance Assistant, or in a similar role.
  • Good knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping procedures, including experience with Xero software and Microsoft Office.
  • Intermediate Excel skills.
  • Minimum of having completed A-levels (or a comparative high school diploma)
  • Experience with bank reconciliation, invoice processing, and ledger reconciliations.
  • Prior experience of managing high-volume financial transactions.
